For Dansko, it all started with a couple’s trip to Europe in the 1980’s. During a visit to a small shop in Denmark, husband and wife team Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup discovered the comfort and versatility of the closed-back clog. When they returned home to Pennsylvania and shared their find with friends, the clogs were so popular that Mandy and Peter decided to go into the shoe business. They founded Dansko in 1990, and ever since, they have been producing their iconic clogs as well as other innovative styles.
